In the old days of American football pre season training was a big deal for the athletes. It was almost like a kid who was not too enthused at the prospect of the schools opening after the long holiday season. After all, they had to do a lot of running – they would have to run around the town, down the hill and then up the hill as well. However, things have changed a lot these days. With greater focus on athleticism and increasing levels of money in the game the responsibility lies with the athlete to make sure that he stays in tune with the demands of the game. It does not really matter if you are a playing as a professional or at the college level, or even in the high school. The football season is a great opportunity to make a mark and a great way to do that is stay on course with respect to fitness and skills. However, most of the time, it should be as exacting as possible, to make sure that you enjoy the benefits later on during the season. Normally the team practices start during August. So the pre season is a time when you add muscle and wings so that you hit harder and run faster than anyone else. It all needs to be done in the quickest possible time.
